Q: What about sports? Does CFI Therapy have an impact on the way we play sports?
A: We have reports from golfers, runners, tennis players, softball, baseball, and basketball players that they have become much better at their game. How is that possible? Take the example of a
gymnast making a flip on the balance beam. When watching a slow motion video of the flip, one can usually make out that the movement seems somewhat out of alignment while in the air. This means that while the
gymnast has to negotiate the flip he/she also has to accommodate for the amount of dysfunction in the body, which changes the alignment. It is like a race car driver juggling a couple of eggs while driving a car. If
he has a bad day and his attention is not 100% on the eggs and the driving, an accident will happen. Think about how much better the driving would be if the driver did not have to juggle the eggs at the same time.
There would be much less concern for an accident. In the case of the gymnast, a lack of misalignment from suppressed trauma could mean "nailing" a landing over and over, because the movement is now
balanced and natural without any internal distortions.
