One of the most powerful things Dr. Hinz has done for me is to relieve me of fears that were painfully
constraining, guilt-provoking, and exhausting. People I used to be terrified even to think of, have shrunk, in my perception, to tiny, insignificant forms that I can have compassion for and emotional distance from.
They simply don’t threaten or affect me anymore, not even in person. As a result, I was able to see my former step-daughter (whom I raised, half-time, for 6 years, and whom I love and adore) with her mother,
and be fully present with them, with grace and calm, at peace. A year earlier, I had tried to do the same, but was too terrified even to show up at the event (a memorial for my step-daughter’s father), which
is my only chance, once a year, to see my former step-daughter.
The healing effect that this year’s visit with her and her mother had on me is incalculable. Also, my
former step-daughter (who had never understood why I had failed to show up the year before), was able to spend time with me, and ask me questions (like why I hadn’t come the year before), and she appeared to
drink in my love of her and experience some reassurance, perhaps even healing, as well.
I was also able to end a relationship that wasn’t working, without fear or guilt. And talk to my
sister–not only without trepidation, but with pleasure and ease. I also let go of agonizing anxieties concerning a falling-out with my step mother, and welled up with an internal reassurance that we will
eventually work things out, which has allowed me to become calm and patient, while she takes whatever time and distance she needs before she is ready to speak with me again. My sense of panic–that an
irreversible fracture of my family structure was imminent, and that I was at the crux of it–simply cleared out of me, like a weather system.
He is also helping me to clear out grief, anger, and feelings of unworthiness. Things I have known I need to do,
but not known how to do, for 20 years.
I have spent decades exploring every kind of health care I could find, including a host of medical specialties
(neurology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, etc.), healing modalities (acupuncture, yoga, chiropractic care, ayurvedic medicine, homeopathy, Chinese herbs, Candida diets, etc.), pharmaceuticals, supplements,
and counseling (for a total of almost 14 years, with various therapists, psychiatrists and a psychologist). While a few of those modalities have improved my quality of life, none of them accomplished what my work
with Dr. Hinz has, in just a few sessions. Even my psychologist, who is magnificent, agreed that Dr. Hinz’ modality is capable of clearing emotional and psychological wounds and blocks that psychotherapy may
not ever access.
After my first session with Dr. Hinz, I met with my music partner to practice, as we’d been doing
periodically for months. When we met again a week later (after a second session with Dr. Hinz), my music partner told me, “Until last week, I had never really invested in you, because I didn’t want to
get my musical heart broken. But the way you showed up last week, and the way you are today, I can see that something has changed about you. Now I can invest in this partnership with you.” Another friend that
week remarked repeatedly that I looked much better, and different. Within weeks, it seemed that everyone I ran into was saying, “You look great.” My psychiatrist noticed such a “major shift”
in me, that he switched our appointments from being bi-monthly to once in three months.
I trust Dr. Hinz. I believe that he works in physical, medical, emotional, spiritual, and metaphysical planes of
knowledge and experience all at once, and actualizes my inner resources–in all of those dimensions in me–for self-healing.
Before seeing Dr. Hinz. I would not have thought possible–at least, not for me–what we have been able
to accomplish together. X. X. Austin, TX
